Frequent Asked Questions

How can the system be accessed?

The system can be accessed from any internet-enabled device (e.g. cell phone, laptop, tablet, etc.) without needing any special equipment or downloads. Google Chrome or Safari are preferred. Users will need to allow access to location data for mapping to be updated.

How quickly can the system go "live"?

The entire system was built BY first responders FOR first responders. This means the system is intuitive and easy to deploy (regardless of technical capabilities).

In 2019, during Hurricane Dorian, our software was used for the search and rescue efforts in the Bahamas. Within 24 hours of requesting software – their dispatch got access to our system and they were already dispatching the Coast Guard (and other volunteer efforts). By the end of the week there were over 650 individuals rescued via our software.

Is my information secure?

Yes, backed by AWS GovCloud, we provide complete end-to-end privacy and security in a secure, fully-encrypted cloud environment.

AWS Govcloud (US) Differences:

  • Regions are physically isolated and have logical network isolation from all other AWS Regions.
  • AWS restricts all physical and logical access for those staff supporting AWS GovCloud (US) to US Citizens.
  • AWS allows only vetted US citizens with distinct access controls separate from other AWS Regions to administer AWS Govcloud.
  • AWS GovCloud (US) authentication is completely isolated from Amazon.com.

Are updates included?

Yes – Public safety should ALWAYS have the best tools available (at all times). Updates are all included and FREE with your subscription. In 5-10 years, you’ll still have the most up-to-date version of our software (unlike traditional public safety software). 

All updates are installed automatically and don’t require any downtime. Worst case scenario, updates will apply after the next login.

What happens if the internet connection fails?

We understand the requirements for mission-critical software. 10-8 Systems was actually built by first responders after their constant experiences with clunky, unreliable, and outdated (typically on-premise) solutions. Although the system will “save” any offline changes, it’s always recommended that your center has redundancies for internet access (e.g. wireless hotspots/LTE backups).

We know there’s almost nothing worse than hearing “the CAD is down” and having to resort to pen/paper – so these redundancies will keep your organization running smoothly.

Can 10-8 Systems integrate with 3rd parties?

Yes – 10-8 Systems integrates with industry-leading partners to help streamline emergency responses (e.g., RapidSOS, Active911, AVL, more).

What is the pricing model?

Pricing is based on the number of users that will need access to the system. Pricing will vary based on department size, department type, modules, and integration requirements.
